Job Description

Are you a highly motivated Civils Manager seeking a new challenge Comex 2000 is looking for a Civils Manager to lead and coordinate civil engineering activities across multiple regions ensuring the successful delivery of telecom infrastructure projects. This includes managing excavation ducting reinstatement and compliance with street works legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee civils works for telecoms infrastructure builds ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Manage regional supervisors and subcontractors across multiple sites.
  • Ensure all works comply with NRSWA CDM regulations and health & safety standards.
  • Liaise with clients local authorities and internal departments.
  • Monitor build quality conduct audits and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Oversee stock/plant management and site materials coordination.
  • Track progress manage budgets and report on civils performance metrics.
  • Coordinate immediate deployment of civils crews for urgent faults or damage.


Requirements

We require strong knowledge of trenching ducting reinstatement and excavation methods used in telecom infrastructure along with familiarity with Openreach PIA and fibre optic cabling. A deep understanding of NRSWA regulations and permit schemes for working on public highways is essential.

You should also have:

  • Experience in site supervision and auditing including health & safety risk management.
  • Ability to manage civils operatives and subcontractors.
  • Skilled in stakeholder communication.
  • Efficient in resource planning.
  • Experience in training and development promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) and NRSWA Accreditation is required.
  • Strong grasp of health & safety protocols and incident reporting.

Excellent communication skills Ability to work with minimum supervision Ability to work within a team Be able to prioritise, organise and manage tasks Well-presented and have good presentation skills. Must have good IT skills specifically Microsoft Excel and Word. Must be holding a Full Driving License NRSWA Accredited Track rodding and roping experience reading MSDR drawings and labelling. Fibre blowing experience would be advantageous.
