WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING HERE AT TEAM RC

The Senior Librarian position will:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Second Story and Beyond childrens museum.
  • Collaborate with Library Administration and divisional team to develop long-range planning goals objectives and coordinate activities with other division managers.
  • Assist with the forecast and recommendation of division budgets related to services staffing equipment materials and supplies.
  • Directs plans presents and evaluates special programs and services.
  • Prepare research statistics materials to support grants city state and federal reporting as well as recommendations for improved service delivery and specialized program development.
  • Create partnerships with libraries educational institutions and other organizations in the community; attend professional meetings workshops and conferences; and provide presentations and outreach.
  • Interview select train schedule supervise and evaluate staff across multiple Library Divisions.
  • Provide excellent customer service quality programs and meaningful collections to the community.
  • Interpret library policies procedures and objectives for staff community groups and the general public.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED

Education and/or Experience:

Equivalent to a Bachelors degree in the Social Sciences or a related field a Masters of Library Science Degree and two or more years of professional librarian or museum experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of professional library or museum work and different service areas; use of various library tools; library or literacy materials; the principles of supervision; automation and computers relevant to operations of a library or museum; ability to develop implement and evaluate programs; catalog and classify materials; conduct research and collect information regarding a variety of subjects and use print and electronic reference tools; use computer software application programs and online resources; organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers supervisors patrons and community representatives.

Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C or Class 3 California drivers license.
