You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Project Manager with 7 to 12 years of demonstrable experience in leading large-scale water infrastructure projects. This role is exclusive to individuals with a background in top-tier consulting or engineering advisory firms preferably ex-Big Four (PwC Deloitte EY KPMG) or equivalent organizations with a strong focus on infrastructure development or donor-funded projects.
The successful candidate will lead end-to-end project execution ensure compliance with donor and regulatory requirements and maintain strong stakeholder engagement. The role requires frequent travel within Nigeria for on-site project supervision and coordination.
Lead the preparation and execution of comprehensive project plans budgets and timelines.
Manage all phases of the project lifecycle ensuring delivery on time within scope and on budget.
Ensure alignment with World Bank donor and Nigerian government frameworks.
Direct and support multidisciplinary teams (engineering procurement finance and field personnel).
Monitor performance and ensure efficient resource allocation.
Bridge technical and non-technical communications across teams and stakeholders.
Serve as the primary liaison with donor agencies government institutions and contractors.
Provide timely project status updates risk assessments and financial reports.
Organize and lead meetings field inspections and audits.
Proactively identify and manage project risks issues and changes.
Implement quality control and assurance practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with environmental social and governance (ESG) safeguards mandated by funding institutions.
BSc/MSc in Engineering Civil Engineering Project Management or related discipline.
7 12 years of project management experience in water infrastructure or similar sectors.
Proven experience in a Big Four consulting firm (PwC Deloitte EY KPMG) or equivalent international consulting/advisory firm is required.
Prior exposure to World Bank or donor-funded infrastructure projects is a strong advantage.
Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project Primavera etc.).
Sound knowledge of water infrastructure systems procurement practices and compliance frameworks.
PMP PRINCE2 or equivalent certification is an added advantage.
Strong familiarity with Nigerian regulatory processes in public infrastructure.
Working knowledge of international donor guidelines and safeguard requirements (e.g. World Bank AfDB).
Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
Excellent communication stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
Highly analytical detail-oriented and proactive in problem-solving.
Willingness to travel extensively for project implementation and monitoring.
