Job Description

3 months contract with local authority

  • Work Arrangements: This position is primarily office-based with the opportunity for some remote work. The workweek consists of 4 days with a minimum of 3 days on-site. The initial duration of the role is 3 months with the potential for extension. Applicants are required to include a cover page with their CVs as an example can be found in the order documents.
  • Successes: The organization has successfully recruited new workers and is looking forward to welcoming experienced individuals to fill remaining vacancies. There is a rapid turnaround on interviews.
  • Primary Purpose:
    1. Responsible for delivering a youth offending service that effectively safeguards children young people families and communities utilizing statutory interventions within the criminal justice and social care frameworks as appropriate.
    2. Directly responsible for leading and managing the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality fully integrated services to children young people and their families in accordance with national legislation government regulation local policy and best practice.
    3. Provide direct oversight and decision-making on highly complex cases within the youth offending service taking a lead on key areas such as harmful practices (gangs and serious youth violence/CSE/Prevent) and whole family work.
    4. Responsible for HR management performance and resource allocation for the team effectively managing motivating developing and empowering staff to deliver a high-quality productive service to achieve the Council s service objectives.
  • Working Model: This role follows a hybrid model with 3 days per week on-site and a flexible approach involving working from the town hall campus/hubs. Face-to-face working is encouraged for teams as it is important for front-line workers and all meetings with children and families take place face-to-face.

Requirements

Requirements:
  1. Social Work England (SWE) registration.
  2. Social Work degree or a youth justice professional qualification or equivalent qualification.

Requirements: Full-time availability for a year Ability to work 36 hours per week Resilient and able to thrive in challenging situations Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills Comfortable with confrontation and able to deal with difficult situations Availability for out-of-hours meetings and lone working Daily use of a car and a full driving license
