Job Description
Job Title: VMC Setter Cum Operator
Set up and operate Vertical Machining Center (VMC) as per job requirements and production schedules.
Read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints and job orders to determine machining requirements.
Prepare and install tools fixtures and workpieces on machines to ensure accurate machining.
Adjust machine parameters offsets and feeds/speeds to achieve desired tolerances and finishes.
Perform first piece inspection and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.
Conduct routine checks preventive maintenance and minor repairs to ensure machine efficiency.
Monitor machining operations and troubleshoot any issues to avoid production delays.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols standard operating procedures and quality control standards.
Maintain accurate production records and inspection reports.
Collaborate with supervisors quality inspectors and team members to meet delivery deadlines.
Essential Qualifications:
ITI/Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering or relevant technical qualification.
Minimum 2 5 years of experience in setting and operating VMC machines.
Strong knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc/Mitsubishi/Siemens) and G-code programming.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
Skills Required:
Expertise in VMC machine setup and operation.
Proficiency in tool selection offsets and machining parameters.
Hands-on experience with measuring instruments such as vernier calipers micrometers bore gauges etc.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
