Harris County Resources for Children and Adults was founded in 1966 as The Harris County Child Welfare Board to provide support services for children taken under the wing of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Fifty years later Harris County Resources for Children and Adults still provides this support. But the now-county department has expanded services for early prevention intervention and adult services.

Brief Description Overview:
Under the supervision of the Asset Management Manager individuals in this position work closely with the Harris County Resources for Adult Services Guardianship Program to research assess and evaluate the assets of wards receiving services through the program. This position collaborates with internal and external entities regarding the management of ward assets.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct research and evaluate assets using multiple resources.
Identify and secure bank accounts safe deposit boxes and all assets related to banking and financial institutions.
Ensure the ongoing management and stewardship of the wards assets.
Responsible for conducting Initial Annual and Final inventories ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of all assets within the financial management system and documenting all related information into EMS for review.
Ensures all asset-related transactions are in compliance with program policies estate code guidelines and court orders.
Responsible for coordinating the movement and storage of all assets belonging to the ward.
Manage transaction records and documentation for all assets belonging to wards.
Provide financial institutions with information about the agency and its role and communicate any new or updated policies on banking institutions to the program.
Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Education:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Social Sciences or closely related field. OR a Paralegal Degree.
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years full-time paid work experience in a business administration real estate social services or a legal setting.
Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software such as Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Licensure:
Reliable transportation with a valid drivers license (Texas) and auto liability insurance.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of county state and federal laws Texas Estates Code statutes rules and standards governing guardianship and asset management guidelines.
Skill in empathizing valuing and dealing successfully with the special capabilities distinctive cultural histories and unique needs of people of various socio-economic ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Skill in analyzing interpreting and applying Texas Estates Code and Guardianship Standards.
Skill in self-discipline dependability and ability to work independently manage multiple projects and prioritize multiple tasks and demands to accomplish outcomes.
Maintains the highest standards of ethical behavior exercising honesty and integrity respect confidentiality and fairness in the execution of their official responsibilities.
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with residential facilities care providers family members benefit carriers government officials and departments community partners and resources and the general public.
Handles sensitive interpersonal situations calmly and tactfully.
Communicates detailed and often sensitive information effectively orally and in writing.
Maintains confidential information.
Develops and implements processes and procedures to accomplish outcomes.
