CURATING ORIGINALITY TAKES TALENT
W Sydney is now casting for a Sous Chef.The role focuses on the center of W Sydneys culinary journey BTWN restaurant which is situated between the citys sweeping expressways and Darling Harbour serving up contemporary Australian flavors alongside a dynamic urban vista.Your main responsibilities include but not limited to;
- Supporting the culinary leadership to achieve the daily objectives of the culinary department
- Works with Restaurant and Banquet departments to coordinate service and timing of events and meals
- Leads shifts while personally preparing food items and executing requests based on required specifications
- Participates in the employee performance appraisal process giving feedback as needed
- Supervises and mentoring staffing to ensure that guest service operational needs and financial objectives are met
- Participates in department meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results
- Purchases appropriate supplies and manages food and supply inventories according to budget.
- Performs all duties of culinary and related kitchen area talent in high demand times
REQUIREMENTS
- Working experience in a large/luxury full-service hotel
- Knowledge and understanding in Australian/European cuisine
- Excellent time management & communication skills
- Basic administrative and computer skills
