Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborativeEngineering Change Coordinatorto join our Engineering team. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in material planning or configuration managementparticularly within high-tech or electronics manufacturing environmentswho thrive in a fast-paced cross-functional setting.
The Engineering Change Coordinator is responsible for managing engineering change orders (ECOs) maintaining bills of materials (BOMs) and ensuring accurate communication and documentation throughout the change process. This role plays a critical part in supporting product lifecycle management and ensuring alignment between engineering and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Change & Configuration Management
- Implement and manage ECOs ensuring timely completion and cross-functional approvals.
- Create and maintain accurate BOMs for new and existing products.
- Coordinate documentation and respond to inquiries related to ECOs and BOMs.
- Communicate ECOs and build packages to contract manufacturers ensuring revision control.
- Review and manage excess inventory related to engineering changes and prototype builds.
- Facilitate smooth transitions from engineering to production.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead weekly status meetings with contract manufacturers.
- Partner with engineering supply chain and production teams to ensure alignment.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs and experience.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of supply chain and manufacturing operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
- Excellent problem-solving multitasking and communication skills.
- Self-motivated results-driven and collaborative team player.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MRP systems (Oracle preferred).
- Familiarity with PLM systems (PTC Windchill preferred).
- Basic knowledge of electronic components and PCB assemblies.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in a technical field or equivalent technical experience preferred.
- 3 years of experience in material planning or configuration management in a high-tech environment preferred.
