Job Description

Position Summary

The Opportunity:Skagit Valley College is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Human Resource Consultant 2 Employment Processing Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the colleges employment lifecycle by managing high-volume time-sensitive employment transactions and ensuring data accuracy in our HR systems.

The Employment Processing Coordinator works closely with HR Managers and staff to process employment actions maintain personnel records and support payroll operations. This position will primarily focus on managing transactions for the administrative exempt and faculty employee group but will provide back-up transactional support for the classified temporary and student employee group when needed. This role requires strong organizational skills a high level of accuracy and a commitment to excellent customer service.

This is a full-time benefits-eligible classified position working 40 hours per week 12 months per year on-site primarily on the Mount Vernon campus.

SVC reserves the right to determine the work modality for each position. The individual selected for this rolemustreside or have the ability to relocate to Washington State.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the processing of new hire separation job change pay change and similar employment transactions;
  • Review and accurately input employee information into the HRIS (ctcLink) while meeting strict processing deadlines;
  • Ensure faculty quarterly contracts are approved and sent to Payroll according to payroll and CBA deadlines;
  • Create update and maintain employee accounts and directories;
  • Respond to inquiries from employees and the public regarding employment and payroll matters;
  • Assist employees and managers with employment forms and prepare and send employment-related correspondence and notifications;
  • Resolve pay classification and employment record concerns in collaboration with HR and Payroll staff;
  • Perform regular data integrity audits and generate reports from HRIS systems;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files and employment records;
  • Support HR operations by assisting with general inquiries triaging emails and backing up the front desk and phone coverage as needed;
  • May train and provide guidance to processing support staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of professional-level human resources employment processing onboarding or closely related experience;
  • Strong data management skills and experience with HRIS or payroll systems;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in a higher education or public sector HR environment;
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft (ctcLink) NEOGOV/NEOED or similar systems;
  • Knowledge of employment laws collective bargaining agreements and HR best practices;
  • HR certification (PHR SPHR SHRM-CP/SCP).
