Role: Activity Chaperone
Reports to: Center Director
Location: Nashville TN
Reporting directly to the Center Director the Chaperone is responsible for providing assistance to the ISA and other ELS staff in guiding and supervising students who are partaking in ELS Student Activities. Depending on Center location the position may also be assigned to greet new students arriving at area airports as ELS Airport Ambassadors.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
The Chaperone working under the direction of the Center Director accompanies the Center Director and/or other ELS staff on organized Student Activities which may include airport greeting services at pre-designated Center locations. The Chaperone assists in supervising and guiding students on the activity and ensuring that all students have assigned Activity Waivers on file. The Chaperone is expected to interact with the students assist in leading the group follow ELS policy guidelines and is expected to look out for the well-being of the students while the students are participating in the event.
QUALIFICATIONS/RELATED EXPERIENCE
Education: A high school diploma is required as are cross-cultural awareness and the ability to work with a variety of age groups and ESL learners. An interest in working with international students a plus.
Experience: Counseling experience in such capacities as youth camp counselor or college residence advisor is preferred. Previous cross-cultural experience or working with ESL population is preferred.
Competencies: The Chaperone must have the ability to work in a cross-cultural environment. The Chaperone must also have good interpersonal communication organizational skills and leadership abilities. Candidates must understand the dynamics and responsibilities of leading and supervising a group.

The employee will be required to stand and walk in addition to talking and hearing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Travel Requirements: Depending on the activity it may involve travel outside the area or overnight trips.
