Job Description

Risk Remediation Program Office (RRPO) Senior Director Chief of Staff Discover Integration

We are looking for a Senior Director Chief of Staff for the newly established Risk Remediation Program Office (RRPO) to help maximize our programs and our organizational engagement and this position you will apply your strategic skills to key company challenges serving as a trusted advisor to the leadership team and helping set and implement the vision and focus areas for the RRPO.

You will establish and lead central workstreams on behalf of Risk Compliance and LOB sponsors. Stakeholder management will be an integral element of success in this role; a high level of cross-functional engagement and collaboration is expected. Strong intellect exceptional well managed judgment and a proven track record of influencing with excellent verbal and written communication skills while working with the senior executive management team are a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop short and long term success measures to govern performance and effectiveness of the program.

  • Design program structures for effective oversight of projects.

  • Ensure effective and timely decisioning impediment mitigation and stakeholder communications.

  • Lead or participate in relevant risk and audit activities for the program ensuring the program is well managed at all times.

  • Partner cross-functionally with stakeholders to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive program operating outcomes.

  • Apply strong communication skills to influence program operating efficiencies and effectiveness.

  • Operate as a key partner and thought leader with the senior leader and leadership team members to optimize operating rhythms and engagement strategies. Serve as an ambassador for the organization and participate in attracting coaching and retaining talent in the organization.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of:

  • Strong business judgment leadership and integrity: Be a tenacious decision maker able to bring a healthy aggressive yet responsible approach to the program.

  • Strong communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Operational excellence: Proven track record of excellent program management bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.

  • Clear results orientation: Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals and be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment

  • Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced entrepreneurial and dynamic ability to build strong trusted relationships and operate in an influential manner across teams to assist in driving the business agenda.

  • Be a collaborative team player.

  • Highly motivated individual that can work autonomously and can independently take initiative.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and bring clarity to problem solving.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • At least 10 years of Process Project or Program Management experience

  • At least 5 years of People Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in Business Administration

  • 2 years of Risk Management experience

  • 11 years of Process Project or Program Management experience

  • 3 years of Operations experience

  • 3 years of Chief of Staff experience

  • 7 years of People Management experience

  • 2 years of Change Management experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Lean Agile or Six Sigma certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Richmond VA: $240300 - $274300 for Sr. Director Chief of Staff











Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
