Job Description

Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Muscat Sultanate of Oman

Nestled in between the dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains and the pristine waters of the Sea of Oman Shangri-Las Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is set on 124 acres of stunning scenery and home to three spectacular hotels: the family orientated Al Waha comprises 262 rooms the diverse Al Bandar comprises 198 deluxe rooms and the luxurious and most exclusive Al Husn has 180 elegantly appointed guestrooms and suites. The resort also features 22 Food and Beverage outlets 1056 sqm ballroom with 8 breakout rooms wide variety of recreational facilities and a spa with 12 treatment villas.

The Assistant Spa Manager supports the Spa Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the spa ensuring the highest standards of guest service cleanliness and wellness offerings. This role involves supervising the spa team managing bookings and inventories and enhancing the overall guest experience through quality control staff training and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing daily spa operations including scheduling treatment coordination and front desk supervision.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction by maintaining service excellence and handling guest concerns or complaints professionally.
  • Ensure all therapists and spa staff deliver treatments according to brand standards and protocols.
  • Support staff development through training mentoring and performance reviews.
  • Assist with recruitment onboarding and scheduling of therapists and spa receptionists.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and manage inventory of spa products linens and equipment.
  • Maintain hygiene and safety standards in all spa areas in compliance with health regulations and brand guidelines.
  • Assist in developing promotional strategies and packages in collaboration with marketing and sales teams.
  • Ensure accurate billing record-keeping and revenue tracking.
  • Monitor daily bookings and optimize scheduling to maximize therapist productivity and guest satisfaction.
  • Support sustainability goals (e.g. eco-friendly products reducing water and energy use).
  • Attend departmental meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
