The Data Governance Manager plays a critical leadership role in embedding and scaling data governance practices across the organisation. This role is responsible for driving the continuing rollout of the enterprise data governance framework maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the enterprise data governance platform (Informatica IDMC) and working closely with business stakeholders Data Stewards and Data Custodians to uplift data governance maturity. The manager acts as a key champion for data accountability and responsible data use across all business functions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive the implementation and maturity of the enterprise data governance framework across all domains and business units.
  • Administer and optimize Informatica IDMC to support governance workflows metadata management and data lineage.
  • Enhance IDMC system workflows including glossary classification profiling and automation.
  • Embed enterprise data standards ownership models and stewardship responsibilities.
  • Partner with business units and IT to improve data management practices and governance adoption.
  • Deliver training and support to IDMC users to boost engagement and literacy.
  • Support governance forums with materials action tracking and progress reporting.
  • Define and track KPIs for governance effectiveness using IDMC insights.
  • Stay current with governance trends and ensure alignment with business and regulatory needs.
  • Maintain governance documentation including policies standards and playbooks.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC modules including Data Governance & Catalog Data Quality Data Profiling and Metadata Command Centre.
  • Proven track record in implementing and scaling data governance frameworks within complex enterprise environments.
  • Solid understanding of data privacy and protection standards such as GDPR HIPAA and the Australian Privacy Principles.
  • Experience operating within federated or distributed data governance models.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered and natural language query tools (e.g. Informatica CLAIRE Tableau Ask Data Power BI Q&A) to support intuitive data discovery and governance adoption.
  • Background in project and change management with the ability to drive governance initiatives across diverse stakeholder groups.
