Role Purpose: Were looking for a high-impact Data Science Manager to lead the development and delivery of complex analytics and machine learning solutions that unlock customer insight drive smarter decision-making and fuel personalisation across B&Q and TradePoint.
Whats the job
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of data science projects challenging current approaches and driving innovation.
- Develop and deploy predictive models (e.g. churn forecasting customer value) and customer segmentations.
- Build and improve marketing measurement models including incrementality and effectiveness.
- Translate business goals into data science solutions working closely with product managers and stakeholders.
- Manage project backlogs using Agile methodologies to prioritise analytical needs.
- Support personalisation and targeting strategies across all customer channels.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and bring external thinking into B&Qs data science practice.
- Drive adoption of data science products across the business and ensure they deliver measurable value.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and advocate for data-driven decision-making.
What we need:
What Youll Bring:
- Experience working specifically with customer data
- Advanced programming skills in Python or R with strongSQLknowledge and clean coding practices.
- Proven experience inmachine learningpredictive modellingsegmentation andtime series analysisusing tools like TensorFlow PyTorch Scikit-learn or Keras.
- A track record of deploying data science solutions into production and driving measurable business impact.
- Experience withcloud-based platforms(e.g. Databricks Snowflake BigQuery).
- Strong leadership and coaching skills with experience managing technical teams inAgileenvironments.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear actionable insights.
- Passion fordata qualitygovernance andversion control(GitHub).
- A curious collaborative approach and a flair for storytelling with data.
