About the Role: Northland is looking for a dedicated Concierge to join our team! The Concierge will serve as the first point of contact for residents guests and visitors and will offer assistance or information regarding the community its facilities and the surrounding area including restaurants and attractions. This role requires excellent communication skills a customer-focused attitude and a knowledge of the greater Hartford area.
- This position is full time with the primary shift being 11:00 am - 7:00 pm. Weekends are required.
Qualifications & Requirements: The following list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or changed as necessary.
- Answers questions regarding and/or making arrangements for dining entertainment sports events recreation tours health and beauty services childcare transportation religious worship cultural activities shopping floral services and other services. Keeps accurate records of all arrangements made.
- Answers questions concerning and/or giving directions to the community and its facilities.
- Process and notify residents of receipt of facsimiles mail messages and packages. Assists guests in the sending of facsimiles mail messages and packages. Maintains a stamp bank with domestic and international postage for guest purchase.
- Maintains current information and materials regarding community facilities and services and local restaurants and attractions. Maintains a current information book related to conventions meetings and special events held in the community and the city.
- Supports Fire Command Station Leader during emergency situations.
Qualifications & Requirements: The individual must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- High School diploma or general education degree is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a customer service role preferred.
- Knowledge and working experience with Windows applications including Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to learn and maintain extensive knowledge of the community its facilities and services.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to accomplish goals.
- Ability to present a positive attitude and be an effective team member.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs including packages or other items delivered to the community.
- Must be flexible with the ability to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the community; Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
