DescriptionRole Purpose:
Drive the design and development of the menswear department building a balanced comprehensive offer with a high taste level and appreciation for a premium aesthetic. Offer newness combined with commerciality and a strong affinity fashion influenced by the latest catwalk and trend predictions.
Role Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the design development and delivery of relevant and contemporary design across multi product with a focus on but not limited to jersey and soft tailoring
- Presenting new product ranges to management and buying teams
- Creating mood and trend boards seasonally plus colour direction
- Travelling to India and China to develop product and range build
- Develop a strong understanding and appreciation of key items details and fabrications
- Understanding pricing-margins- design to price point
- Working closely with buying and merchandising to build department strategy
- To continually aim to develop yourself asking your Line Manager for support and guidance.
- Collaborate with the Head of Design and Design team to build seasonal trends and concepts for the brand.
- To complete any other duties as reasonably requested by the company to ensure the continuous development of the business
Role Requirements:
- Eye for colour trends and fashion
- High taste level with an appreciation for premium fabrication
- Previous design experience from fashion retailer/supplier
- Excellent hand sketching and technical garment drawing skills
- Demonstrates an awareness of the retail industry
- Demonstrates accountability to deliver within role and drive the right results
- Helpful and approachable always willing to extend help
- Demonstrates an awareness of trends and impact of potential threats and opportunities
