Job summary: Assist the classroom teacher with instructional tasks working directly and indirectly with students. These tasks will constitute the major portion of the Educational Support Professional time.
Responsibilities and tasks include:
- Support the academic and social-emotional needs of pre school students.
- Assist the Principal School Counselors and Instructional Assistants with social-emotional learning and behavior support to individual students.
- Under the supervision of the school counselor social worker assist with small friendship or kindness groups.
- Work directly with students individually or in small groups on academic and motor or social skills e.g. math science English color recognition decision making self-esteem building etc.
- Assist students and teachers in large group activities/projects such as art physical education dramatics.
- Seek out special instructional materials to assist with students having particular learning problems e.g. separate math skill worksheet not a part of teachers curriculum.
- Type worksheets tests or various instructional material; duplicate and assemble.
- Basic knowlegde of iPads Chromebooks and Google Suite
- Correct tests via computer. Record results in grade books.
- Perform other duties as assigned by principal or designee.
Minimum qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrate ability to work with students.
- Computer and word processing experience helpful.
- Applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesotas standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR
- An Associates (or higher) degree; Minnesotas standard: An AA AS AAS (or higher) degree OR
- Received a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
- Must be highly qualified (HQ) within 30 days from the date of employment will pay for the exam and up to 10 hours of prep and exam time.
Salary:View Classification II (2) salary grid on page 4; and classification on page 5-6on Educational Support Professional contract
