Job Summary:
This role involves providing surgical technologist support in a fast-paced Level I trauma center operating room setting. The Surgical Technologist will assist surgeons during a wide range of surgical procedures maintain sterile fields and handle equipment and instruments. The position requires a minimum of three years of experience and on-call availability.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures across various specialties (General Surgery Gynecology Neurosurgery Orthopedics etc.).
- Maintaining sterile fields and ensuring a safe surgical environment.
- Handling and preparing surgical instruments equipment and supplies.
- Assisting with patient positioning and draping.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and reporting any changes to the surgical team.
- Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Adhering to aseptic techniques isolation precautions radiation safety sharps safety and specimen handling protocols.
- Participating in the Universal Protocol (Time out) procedure.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital setting.
- Experience in a Level I trauma center and teaching hospital preferred.
- Proficiency in a wide range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties (detailed in input).
- BLS certification required.
- CST certification preferred.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique isolation precautions radiation safety sharps safety specimen handling and the Universal Protocol.
- Experience with various surgical equipment and instrumentation (detailed in input).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in a teaching hospital.
- CST certification.
Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities are required as needed.
- Weekend work is required approximately once a month (16 hours).
- Floating within the scope of practice is required to meet facility needs.
- Schedule requests should be discussed with the manager.
- Must live within 50 miles of the facility.
- Must be in the state of Illinois 3 business days prior to compliance HDD for fingerprinting.
- Guaranteed hours with a clause for call-offs (up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay).
- RTO restrictions require discussion and approval by the manager.
Scheduling:
- 4-day work week (10-hour shifts) from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM.
- Schedule flexibility will be discussed with the manager.
