Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Operating Room Technician responsible for providing surgical support in a Level I or Level II trauma center or large teaching hospital. The technician will work a 5x8 hour shift with on-call responsibilities and mandatory cross-coverage across multiple surgical specialties. A minimum of three years of experience in a similar setting is required.

Responsibilities:
- Providing surgical support during a wide range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties (Orthopedics Neurosurgery Vascular Thoracic Trauma Oral-Maxillofacial ENT General Ophthalmology Gynecology Ortho/Plastics Hand Plastics Urology Colo-Rectal Pediatric and Adult).
- Preparing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assisting the surgical team during procedures.
- Maintaining a sterile surgical field.
- Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Floating to other facilities as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center or large teaching hospital.
- Experience in multiple surgical services (Orthopedics Neurosurgery Vascular Thoracic Trauma Oral-Maxillofacial ENT General Ophthalmology Gynecology Ortho/Plastics Hand Plastics Urology Colo-Rectal Pediatric and Adult).
- Certified Surgical Technologist in the State of Illinois (NBSTA or NCCT certification).
- BLS certification.

Special Considerations:
- Mandatory float pool assignment across multiple facilities.
- On-call requirement: 1 weekend on-call shift every 4 weeks (7a-7p or 7p-7a).
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month).
- RTO policy: Maximum 5 days no more than 2 consecutive days no holiday RTO no RTO the day before or after a holiday no weekend RTO.
- Must live within 75 miles of the facility.
Scheduling:
- 5x8 hour shifts 6:30 am - 3:00 pm.
- No block scheduling.
