Job Overview

Title: Cath Lab Technologist
Department: Cardiac Catheterization (Cath Lab Tech)
Type: Travel Contract (12 weeks)
Schedule: Day Shift 4x10-Hour (07:00 17:30)
Start Date: 09/08/2025

Job Description

Summary:
We are actively seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist for a 12-week travel assignment. This role is ideal for candidates with at least 2 years of Cath Lab experience and proficiency in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. Candidates must be comfortable circulating scrubbing and documenting procedures and must hold valid ACLS and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and assist in diagnostic/interventional cardiac catheterization procedures

  • Circulate scrub and record all cases involving acute MI PCI and peripheral vascular interventions

  • Assist with complex procedures such as PICC/Central line insertion biopsies and vascular access care

  • Maintain sterile technique and support sedation procedures as needed

  • Recognize life-threatening arrhythmias and respond according to ACLS protocol

  • Set up and operate specialized equipment (e.g. IABP rotablader closure devices)

  • Float between similar facilities if required

  • Document procedures using Epic charting system

Key Requirements:

  • Must have 2 years of recent Cath Lab experience

  • Previous perm employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must be separated for at least 3 months

  • Must be open to floating between similar Providence facilities

  • Locals are accepted at the travel rate

  • 1:1 staffing ratio

  • Guaranteed hours 12-week contract

  • Special Procedures: Cardiac catheterization sedation support defibrillation sheath removal vascular device access

  • Special Equipment: Scrub circulate record functions

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology program

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years Cath Lab experience (required)

  • Prior experience in interventional radiology or cardiac cath preferred

License:

  • Must hold ARRT (R) or CCI RCIS credential

  • State licensure (as required based on location)

Certifications (Required):

  • BLS (AHA)

  • ACLS (AHA)

Skills:

  • Cardiac Cath Lab Procedures: Diagnostic & Interventional Catheterizations PCI PTCA Right/Left Heart Cath Rotablader IABP

  • Procedural Support: Scrubbing Circulating Recording Sheath Removal

  • Imaging & Access Procedures: Biopsies PICC lines Vascular Device Access Central Line Care

  • Knowledge of Equipment: Vascular Closure Devices (Perclose StarClose) Infusion Pumps Defibrillation Units

  • Other: Isolation precautions infection control sterile technique
