We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician to join our Engineering Operations team. This role is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance repairs and inspections across a wide range of systems and areas within the property. The ideal candidate will ensure operational efficiency safety compliance and guest satisfaction at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance
Perform planned and reactive maintenance for mechanical systems including but not limited to:
HVAC electrical refrigeration FLS (fire & life safety) systems
Kitchen and laundry equipment
Plumbing and drainage
General building infrastructure (furniture painting parts repair)
Conduct maintenance across guest rooms F&B outlets public areas function spaces and back-of-house.
Troubleshoot service and repair hydraulic pneumatic and mechanical systems including pumps gearboxes valves and piping.
Perform welding sheet metal work and fabrication tasks when necessary.
Carry out daily utilities readings and preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
Tools Safety & Cleanliness
Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and ensure proper storage after use.
Follow safety procedures (including LOTO) use proper PPE and maintain a clean hazard-free workspace.
Participate actively in the propertys safety and energy conservation programs.
Communication & Guest Interaction
Respond to guest requests promptly and professionally ensuring work is completed to their satisfaction.
Communicate effectively with engineering supervisors team members and other departments regarding maintenance issues and progress.
Notify management of any major disruptions to services.
Additional Duties
Attend required meetings briefings and training sessions.
Report to work on time in complete uniform and with a professional appearance.
Perform other reasonable tasks and duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications :
Education & Experience
35 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in a hotel commercial building or industrial facility.
Technical diploma or associates degree in Mechanical Maintenance Industrial Technology or a related field is preferred.
Successful passing of a mechanical skills test (if required).
Skills & Competencies
Proficient in reading mechanical schematics and using diagnostic tools (e.g. pressure gauges dial indicators).
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems: pumps valves gearboxes HVAC piping and welding.
Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing systems is an advantage.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Highly responsible safety-conscious and reliable.
Full range of motion in both hands and arms; ability to use both manual and power tools.
