Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Steward Supervisor to join our team in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. As a Steward Supervisor you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of our kitchen and food service areas. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
- Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the stewarding team ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standards
- Train and mentor stewarding staff on proper procedures equipment usage and chemical handling
- Assist in creating and managing staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas dishwashing stations and equipment to maintain cleanliness and functionality
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations including food safety protocols
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies chemicals and kitchen equipment
- Coordinate with other departments to support smooth kitchen operations and event setups
- Implement and maintain quality control measures for cleanliness and sanitation
- Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues
- Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for the stewarding department
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications :
- Minimum of two years recent experience in a kitchen environment
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia both written and verbal
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently
- In-depth knowledge of safe working procedures for hazardous materials and kitchen equipment
- Understanding of inventory management and supply chain processes in a kitchen environment
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations specific to food service operations
- Impeccable personal grooming and presentation
