Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Pastry Assistant to join our culinary team.
As a Pastry Assistant you will play a crucial role in supporting our pastry chefs in creating delicious baked goods and desserts for our customers.
- Assist pastry chefs in preparing a variety of baked goods including cakes pastries and desserts
- Mix shape and bake dough for various pastry items
- Decorate cakes and pastries as directed by the pastry chef
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist in inventory management and restocking of supplies
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of desserts for service
- Follow recipes and instructions precisely to maintain consistency in product quality
- Participate in team efforts to improve processes and create new menu items
Qualifications :
- Food handling certification preferred
- Knowledge of basic baking and pastry techniques
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with good communication skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and lates on occasion
- Prior experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen
- Passion for baking and creating high-quality desserts
