Job Description:

TD Asset Management (TDAM) a member of TD Bank Financial Group is a leading North American investment manager offering progressive investment solutions to both institutional and individual investors. For over two decades the organization has established competitive market positions in active quantitative and passive portfolio management. As of December 31 2024 TDAM and its affiliates manage over $459 billion in assets on behalf of pension insurance endowment/foundation and corporate clients as well as high-net worth clients and retail mutual funds.

In attaining this client commitment TDAM has built one of Canadas largest and most respected investment management and research teams with more than 220 Portfolio Managers Associate Portfolio Managers Traders and Analysts.

TDAM is currently looking to add a Vice President to the Passive Fixed Income portfolio management team.

Job Description/Accountabilities:

  • manage fixed income portfolios to track their respective benchmarks within prescribed tracking variance
  • participate in new order management activities
  • monitor daily portfolio cash flows and characteristics and review and analyze required changes to portfolio structure using a variety of analytical tools
  • design and implement fixed income trade programs
  • ensure portfolio compliance with investment and regulatory policy
  • conduct market and security specific analysis including corporate actions
  • respond to portfolio administration inquiries and troubleshooting
  • identify and implement process improvements
  • participate in cross department initiatives
  • participate in external client servicing requirements and presentations
  • collaborate with other portfolio management team members and relationship managers to ensure the delivery of an excellent client experience
  • provide ongoing support to business partners including client servicing relationship management and risk management

Specific Educational Requirements/Skills/Accreditations:

- preferred university degree in quantitative discipline (math engineering or science) and /or business or economics

- demonstrates a high level of initiative highly motivated and a self starter

- CFA designation

- registered as an Advising Representative with regulatory commissions

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

- minimum 7 10 years of fixed income investment experience and knowledge of fixed income benchmarks and methodology

- demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills

- strong proficiency in excel and VBA

- solid understanding of portfolio management

- familiar with financial market technology platforms

- excellent oral and written communication skills including ability to communicate complex investment ideals

- ability to work independently and in a team setting

- strong organizational prioritization and time management skills

- ability to do multiple tasks and deliver results in a fast paced time sensitive environment

- business acumen

- experience managing Fixed Income ETFs an asset
