In this vital role youll work independently and collaboratively with LCCs Campus Services department ensuring our outdoor environments are always at their best. This is a part-time position working no more than 75 hours maximum per month with a flexible schedule. This positionis classified as a non-permanent Grounds & Nursery Services Specialist 1 under Washington State Classification Specifications.

Check us out on social mediaFacebook&Instagram!Uses a variety of manual tools and equipment such as rakes hand edgers loppers shovels wheelbarrows weeding forks hoes pruning shears and pesticide sprayers.
Utilizes a range of outdoor power equipment such as mowers trimmers hedgers blowers and weed eaters to efficiently perform landscaping and grounds maintenance duties.
Follow a routine landscaping schedule to meet site needs.
Perform regular weeding of all flower beds and barked areas. This also includes trimming and pruning of bushes and trees to maintain their health and appearance.
Review and prioritize grounds and nursery services related tasks.
Adhere to all standard operating procedures the buildings operational schedule and mandatory safety regulations while performing work.
Conduct weekly site visits to Head Start/ECEAP program locations as per a predefined schedule identifying preventative grounds and nursery service requirements and completing necessary items.
Utilize personal or program vehicles to/from sites to pick up needed materials and to complete work order requests.
Plants transplants trims and waters plants trees flowers lawns and shrubs.
Other related duties as required.

Conditions of Employment
If you are hired you will need to provide proof of identity and documentation of U.S. citizenship or appropriate legal authorization to work for the duration of this position as required by the Immigration Reform Control Act of 1995.

After working 350 hours in a 12-month period this position is part of a bargaining unit subject to the WFSE HE collective bargaining agreement.
