Job Description

Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Muscat Sultanate of Oman

Nestled in between the dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains and the pristine waters of the Sea of Oman Shangri-Las Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is set on 124 acres of stunning scenery and home to three spectacular hotels: the family orientated Al Waha comprises 262 rooms the diverse Al Bandar comprises 198 deluxe rooms and the luxurious and most exclusive Al Husn has 180 elegantly appointed guestrooms and suites. The resort also features 22 Food and Beverage outlets 1056 sqm ballroom with 8 breakout rooms wide variety of recreational facilities and a spa with 12 treatment villas.

The Housekeeping Service Leader is responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operations of the housekeeping team. This role ensures guest rooms and public areas are cleaned to the highest standards guiding Room Attendants in maintaining consistency efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of Room Attendants in cleaning guest rooms and public areas according to hotel standards.
  • Conduct room inspections to ensure cleanliness maintenance and setup meet brand requirements.
  • Assign daily tasks and special projects to the housekeeping team based on occupancy and priorities.
  • Report and follow up on maintenance requests and any damages in rooms or public areas.
  • Respond to guest requests or complaints promptly and professionally ensuring high guest satisfaction.
  • Train and mentor new and existing staff on cleaning procedures safety protocols and guest service standards.
  • Ensure adequate supplies and linens are available on floors and in housekeeping pantries.
  • Monitor proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment following safety guidelines.
  • Support inventory control of linens amenities and cleaning supplies.
  • Assist the supervisor in scheduling team briefings and record-keeping.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 12 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cleaning procedures and guest room standards.
  • Able to lead a team with professionalism empathy and clear communication.
  • Good written and spoken English other languages are an advantage.
  • Physically fit and able to perform housekeeping tasks if needed.
  • Organized proactive and detail-oriented.
  • Willingness to work shifts weekends and public holidays.
