Pentucket Medical is launching a walk-in no appointment necessary orthopedic injury clinic at our Riverwalk location (370 Merrimack Street in Lawrence MA 01843). The goal To provide urgent same-day visits for patients provide appropriate evaluation and treatment and establish needed follow up or surgical care during the visit. We also offer radiology services on-site.
We are seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our brand new Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic located at 370 Merrimack Street in Lawrence MA 01843. Our Per Diem APPs are required to work one full weekend per month as well as one week day shift (8 hour or 12 hour shift). We are open Monday Friday 7:30am 7:30pm / Saturdays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm/ and on Sundays from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be responsible for:
Evaluating patients by performing appropriate history and physical exams
Ordering diagnostic procedures such as laboratory radiological and special studies when indicated
Performing therapeutic procedures such as but not limited to suturing of wounds foreign body removal I&D of abscesses reduction of fractures and dislocations splinting casting and injections
Ordering medication both in the clinic or by prescription

Job Summary
The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients medical and/or surgical including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation.

Essential Functions
-Provides direct care counseling and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory inpatient operative and/or procedural setting.
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
-Orders interprets and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic laboratory and physical examination findings.
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
-Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes procedure notes operative notes and discharge summaries.
-Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.

Masters Degree Physician Assistant required
