Job Description
GFL Environmental is looking for a General Laborer to join our team in Coquitlam BC!
The Job:
The General Laborer is responsible for supporting daily operations at a hauling company transfer station materials recycling facility (MRF) or landfill. This position performs a variety of physical and operational tasks to maintain cleanliness efficiency and safety of the worksite. The ideal candidate is reliable safety-conscious and capable of working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general site maintenance including yard clean-up and debris removal
- Fuel vehicles and heavy equipment as required
- Operate basic site vehicles and equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Assist with traffic control and direct vehicles within the facility
- Support loading unloading and sorting of recyclable or waste materials
- Conduct general maintenance tasks in office or facility buildings
- Monitor site for safety or environmental concerns and report any issues
- Comply with all company policies procedures and safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in general labor construction or waste management an asset
- Ability to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Basic understanding of safety practices and equipment operation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid drivers license may be required depending on location
