St. Stephens and St. Agnes School (SSSAS) of Alexandria VA is looking to hire a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Kindergarten Assistant teacher who wants to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students. We are seeking a Part-Time Kindergarten Assistant to join our dynamic team. The Kindergarten Assistant plays a crucial role in creating a warm engaging and structured learning environment where students feel safe supported and excited to explore. Working alongside the lead teacher the assistant will provide instructional and classroom management support helping to ensure each students academic and social-emotional success. Key responsibilities will include supporting the lead teacher in implementing engaging lessons and activities that align with the curriculum and assist in preparing instructional materials classroom setup transitions recess and lunch and hands-on learning experiences. They will work closely with students providing individualized and small-group support to reinforce learning concepts. Candidates should be able to establish and maintain a safe orderly and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and implement effective classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and social-emotional growth. The successful candidate will maintain open and clear communication with parents/guardians regarding students progress and classroom activities as well as collaborate with other teachers specialists and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development.

The School accepts candidates with the following minimal qualifications:
(1) Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education Elementary Education or the equivalent; advanced degrees are strongly encouraged; state certification is not required.
(2) A strong commitment to educating a diverse student body within a caring and creative environment.
(3) Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
(4) Previous teaching experience in an elementary classroom.
(5) Strong references who confirm the applicants ability to exercise sound professional judgment.
