Job Description
Job Title:Accountant
Work Place Flexibility: Hybrid

*** This position will be filled as an Accountant I II or III depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate***
Job Responsibilities
- The accounting organization has a need for a strong individual to join the General Ledger & Reporting Team.
- This team is primarily responsible for maintaining Entergys General Ledger monthly close process chart of accounts allocation and derivation processes and financial reporting systems.
- The position will be primarily involved in management of the account reconciliation system/process including the following:
- Maintaining reconciliation profiles manage user access and updating risk ratings
- Consults and troubleshoots system enhancement issues or interfaces including upstream and downstream impacts
- Perform oversight of proper reconciliation practices
- Participates in the monthly quarterly and annual financial close process
- Execute Sox Controls and liaises with internal and external auditors
Job Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or related field or equivalent work experience. Desired: Advanced Degree.
Accountant I - 0 - 3 years of accounting or relevant experience.
Accountant II - 2 - 3 years of accounting or relevant experience
Accountant III - 3 years accounting or relevant experience
Minimum Knowledge skills and abilities required of the position:
Working knowledge of accounting processes and controls. Working knowledge of MS Office applications; Displays strong analytical skills by efficiently using knowledge of tools and business processes to identify problems and resolve issues. Ability to work independently; Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong focus on process improvements. Technical systems-based capabilities desired.
