About the role
As an Operations Assistant youll play a vital support role across multiple clinical areas to ensure the smooth running of perioperative and procedural services. This hands-on position involves direct patient care assistance equipment handling and maintaining a safe and clean environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Patient and Theatre Support: Assist nursing and surgical staff with preparing theatres positioning patients and supporting procedures by managing specialised equipment and post-operative transfers.
- Cleaning and Equipment Maintenance: Perform terminal cleaning maintain oxygen and CO2 supplies clean lead aprons and ensure the availability of required equipment for scheduled procedures.
- Transport and Manual Handling: Safely assist with patient transfers management of restless patients mortuary transfers and transport of specialised surgical equipment all while adhering to hospital safety protocols.
- Support in Specialist Units: Provide hands-on assistance in Cardiac Catheter Lab Interventional Radiology Endoscopy and the Day Procedure Unittasks include restocking PPE transporting patients cleaning procedure equipment and assisting in specialised procedure setup.
- Flexible Team-Based Role: Night shift staff may assist across hospital departments and are required to remain contactable throughout the shift. This varied role is ideal for someone reliable proactive and comfortable working in a dynamic healthcare environment.

- Proven Experience in Healthcare Administration
Demonstrated experience providing clerical support in a hospital or ward setting with confidence in managing admissions discharges transfers and medical records. - Strong System and Software Skills
Proficiency in using hospital systems such as CorePAS WebDeLacy and the Microsoft Office Suite with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail. - Excellent Organisational and Communication Skills
Ability to prioritise tasks manage competing deadlines and communicate effectively with clinical staff patients and multidisciplinary teams. - Sound Knowledge of Health Information Practices
Understanding of NSW Health admission processes medical record standards and privacy/confidentiality requirements in line with legislation and hospital guidelines. - Professional Compassionate and Team-Oriented Approach
