We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Labor and Delivery RN to join the Providence Health and Services MSP system. This position offers a dynamic environment with 1:2 ratios strong support and the opportunity to make a direct impact on mothers and newborns. The role includes floating to similar units and requires consistent weekend availability.
Responsibilities:Provide direct patient care during all phases of labor delivery and immediate postpartum.
Monitor fetal heart rates using both external and internal fetal monitoring.
Circulate and recover C-sections; assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries.
Administer critical medications such as Pitocin Magnesium Sulfate and insulin drips.
Perform neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessments.
Educate families on newborn and postpartum care.
Utilize Epic for charting.
Maintain compliance with isolation precautions PPE standards and facility protocols.
Minimum 1 year of recent L&D experience required.
Certifications Required: BLS and NRP.
Certifications Preferred: ACLS AWHONN Intermediate AWHONN Advanced.
Must be comfortable floating to like units.
First-time travelers accepted.
RTO must be provided at time of submission.
No pending licenses accepted.
Guaranteed hours with one allowed call-off per two-week pay period.
Education: Associate or Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Experience: 1 year(s) in a Labor & Delivery unit. Community-level experience preferred.
License: Active RN license in hand (No pending licenses accepted).
Skills:
Labor & Delivery: Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries fetal monitoring postpartum hemorrhage management.
Neonatal Care: Resuscitation thermoregulation phototherapy NAS care.
Medications: Pitocin Magnesium Sulfate Prostaglandins Terbutaline Anticonvulsants.
Procedures: Amnioinfusion IV therapy blood administration episiotomy care.
Monitoring: External/Internal Fetal Monitoring Spiral Electrode IUPC usage.
Charting System: Epic required.
Pain Management: Use of PCA opioids general/epidural anesthesia.
