Job Description

Job Title: Technical AWS Lead (AI/ML Experience Preferred)

Client: U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

Position Type: Full-time Permanent

Location: 100% Remote

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to support our ongoing initiatives with the FDA. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background leadership experience and a passion for innovation with machine learning (AI/ML) experience being a strong plus. This is a long-term fully remote opportunity with a mission-driven federal agency dedicated to protecting public health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a cross-functional technical team in delivering scalable secure and maintainable software solutions.
  • Oversee system architecture design and development for complex applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders analysts and product owners to define technical requirements.
  • Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to developers and engineers.
  • Ensure adherence to software development best practices including code reviews and unit testing.
  • Contribute to solutioning involving data science and AI/ML components (preferred).
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and task estimation.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Lead in a software development environment.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python Java or similar.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP).
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on FDA or other federal government projects.
  • Hands-on experience or understanding of machine learning concepts and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of FDA data systems or regulatory compliance environments.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
