Job Description
The C&F IT Organization leverages Agile software development principles to achieve success in its support of the business. IT resources are assigned to squads that have specific missions. Each squad consists of a cross-functional set of team members from the various disciplines that are needed to complete the mission. The basic roles include Squad Master Business Analyst Developer and Tester. This position is for Senior QA role whose responsibilities are as follows:
Individuals that would best match our need should have:
- 5-6 years of equivalent experience related to Quality Assurance/Quality Software Testing specifically in Reporting (Tableau/SSRS) data testing business intelligence data analytics and Data Warehousing.
- Experience in developing data quality related documentation (e.g. data quality reports) business processes working with varied computer systems and working with large datasets and complex reports
- proficiency in QA Automation tools scripting specifically for data validation and automation.
- Strong data analysis problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills
- Ability to work in an environment with deadlines and shifting priorities
- Work experience related to Insurance domain
- Experience working on relational databases like SQL Server Oracle DB2 Snowflake
- Experienced in Tableau ( including Mobile and API) Excel
- Experience with SSRS SSIS Informatica is a plus
- Experience using tools like SSMS Toad Dbeaver
- Testing experience on data comparison and analysis tools - BeyondCompare RedGate Schema and Data Compare Excel
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills problem solving skills and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with onshore/offshore teams
- Excellent analysis problem solving and test skills
- Proactive and Attention to Detail
- Effective planning and organizational skills
- Flexible and adaptable in the face of changing priorities or circumstances.
- Knowledge of Agile (Kanban) concepts would be a plus
- Experience using Jira Confluence would be a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work as a senior QA for Data & Analytics Squad
- Create detailed comprehensive and well-structured test procedures scenarios test cases datasets using self service tools and SQL scripts to use in testing software.
- Design Develop Execute and Maintain Data QA test plan leveraging both a manual and automated methodology
- Verifying the report functionality Performance testing usability analysis check the reports are reliable and meet business requirements.
- Participates in functional regression and performance testing
- Perform comprehensive Data analysis.
- Identify record document thoroughly and track bugs
- Participate in Sprint planning sessions and scrum meetings
- Coordinate with other QA members at both onsite and offshore for sprint test preparation & test execution
- Adhere to QA and Agile (Kanban) Guild Standards and process
- Defect Management -Evaluate and log defects identified and follow-up till they are fixed and retest
- Validate data accuracy and integrity by comparing source and target data ensuring high-quality data visualizations.
- Perform performance testing on Tableau dashboards identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure optimal user experience.
- Collaborate with data engineers business analysts and developers to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
- Utilize SQL to query aggregate and validate data from relational databases and data warehouses.
- Leverage Python scripting and dataframes for automated data validation (table-to-table table-to-file file-to-table file-to-file).
- Apply software testing principles and methodologies across web mobile and API applications.
- Identify document and track defects working closely with development teams for resolution.
- Proactively lead new QA initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes.
- Ensure compliance with data quality standards and best practices utilizing tools such as Data frames Reconciliation packages.
Requirements
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participates in analysis of issues & solutions with Business analyst and other members of Squad
- Perform all possible roles according to the needs of the squad including analysis facilitation of meetings liaison with business customers vendors IT teams and help achieve the project/squad s mission
Additional nice to have Qualifications
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium JUnit TestNG or similar technologies.
- Domain knowledge within the Insurance industry particularly Property & Casualty.
