Job Description

What Youll Be Doing

Liebherr Australia is seeking a commercially astute Business Development Manager to drive growth across two dynamic sectors: mining (balanced machines) and the wind energy aftermarket. Reporting to the General Manager Components Division this strategic and hands-on role is ideally based in Perth with a regional remit covering Australia and New Zealand.

You will be responsible for identifying developing and executing business growth strategies for our slewing bearing and gearbox product lines. Working closely with both internal teams and global stakeholders you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market footprint and forging long-term client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies that align with divisional and global objectives.
  • Lead the sales cycle end-to-end: from market prospecting and client engagement through to tender submission and deal closure.
  • Collaborate with local operations and European Business Units to align strategic direction pricing and supply chain capabilities.
  • Act as the divisional subject matter expert (SME) for slewing bearings and gearboxes delivering value-led solutions to customers in mining and wind energy.
  • Build and sustain strong client relationships through proactive account management and regular site visits (HQs mine sites wind farms and workshops).
  • Maintain CRM data integrity and leverage insights to drive customer engagement.
  • Represent Liebherr at relevant industry events trade shows and technical presentations.

What Were Looking For:

You are a seasoned BDM or Technical Sales professional with a proven ability to build markets and influence key stakeholders. You thrive in cross-functional environments and are motivated by the challenge of growing business in emerging and fast-evolving sectors.

Your background may include experience in:

  • The mining industry (balanced machines bulk material handling) or
  • The renewable energy sector particularly wind energy.
  • This is a high-impact role for someone ready to lead strategic growth initiatives while leveraging their technical and commercial acumen.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in B2B sales business development or account management roles.
  • Strong understanding of the mining and/or wind energy sectors.
  • Experience working with high-value engineered components preferably slewing bearings and/or gearboxes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercially minded with experience in quoting tendering and strategic negotiations.
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to communicate complex solutions clearly to clients.
  • Proficient in CRM platforms and sales reporting tools.
  • Willingness to travel nationally to build and maintain key client relationships.
