Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Officer (Kisumu)

Location: Kisumu

Gross Salary: KES 40 000 - 60 000

About the Client

Our client a leading real estate company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and purchasing of materials services and equipment essential to property development and business operations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely cost-effective and compliant procurement while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source negotiate and purchase materials equipment and services required for property development and office operations.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders requisitions and tender documents in line with company procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers to ensure reliable supply and competitive pricing.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely replenishment of supplies.
  • Track deliveries and ensure that purchased items meet the specified quality and quantity.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records including price lists supplier details and delivery timelines.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost control through market research and price benchmarking.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in procurement processes.
  • Evaluate supplier performance regularly and maintain an updated supplier database.
  • Collaborate with the finance and operations teams to reconcile invoices and resolve any discrepancies.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Procurement Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field.
  • A professional certification such as CIPS or KISM is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in procurement preferably within real estate construction or a fast-paced service industry.
  • Solid understanding of procurement regulations contract management and supplier negotiation.
  • Proficient in MS Office and procurement software/tools.
  • Strong organizational communication and negotiation skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
