Valid Texas Home Economics Family and Consumer Sciences Hospitality Nutrition and Food Science or Trade and Industrial Education teaching certificate with requires endorsements and work experience for subject and grade level assigned.
ORmay include a combination of:
Professional work experience in your licensed occupational field;
Formal training and education;
Relevant industry licensure certification or registration;and/or
Any combination of work experience training and education or industry credential related to the subject matter he/she will be teaching.
Specific certifications for this position:
Certification and training will be required upon employment.

- Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the District.
- Develop long- and short-range plans for the instructional program.
- Provide planned instruction to assigned students; present the subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA Board policies and administrative regulations.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to effective learning to include classroom management strategies.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the student groups involved.
- Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents.
- Take all necessary precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Work to establish and maintain a professional competence through participation in campus and district staff development programs.
- Keep informed of and comply with state district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Maintain accurate complete records as required by law District policy and administrative regulation.
- Assist in the selection of books equipment and other instructional materials.
- Responsible for receiving and maintaining textbooks study materials teaching supplies and classroom equipment as provided by the District; keep a current inventory of all items and provide the inventory upon request.
- Assume responsibility for student participation in leadership activities associated with a career and technical education student association as sanctioned by TEA and the District.

Workplace operational environment to include:
Physical demands/environments factors: May require standing for long periods of time. Frequent stooping bending pulling and pushing ie relocating stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other classroom equipment. Will require frequent travel to and from internship sites.
Mental demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); ability to instruct; maintain emotional control under stress.
