This position coordinates the procurement of indirect and expensed materials parts equipment services and supplies for the facility. This role emphasizes accuracy in order processing vendor relationship management and inventory control with a focus on maintenance spares and urgent part requests.
Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Issue purchase orders through E1 ensuring accurate entry of part numbers general ledger accounts and relevant information
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with vendors to secure favorable terms
- Participate in department cost-saving initiatives related to MRO/Indirect Materials
- Crosstrain with Central Stores Coordinator on critical functions.
- Assist the Central Stores Coordinator in investigating and resolving inventory inaccuracies.
- Achieve inventory goals
- Follow up on critical purchasing issues such as PO issuance receipt and invoicing discrepancies
- Assist in the standardization of materials supplies equipment and services
- Resolve quality issues related to indirect materials in collaboration with end users
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock at optimal costs
- Maintain a working knowledge of CAM and production processes to support effective procurement activities
SCOPE & IMPACT:
This position directly contributes to the efficiency of procurement processes supporting the financial health and operational success of the facility.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement or relevant work experience
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate ERPs and E1 systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in numerical data
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safety protocols and safe work practices in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with E1 and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel
- Basic understanding of Maintenance and MRO disciplines

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Regularly required to sit stand walk stoop and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 lbs. and team lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery varying temperatures and moderate noise levels.
- May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection.
