Join our team as an Adult Games Official with Juneau Parks & Recreation!
This position plays a vital role in creating a fun fair and safe recreational environment for adult volleyball leagues including Mens Womens and Coed divisions.

Our team seeks to provide the best customer service possible to the public and manage the facilities and programs that are essential to our quality of life for the people of Juneau. We believe in making Juneau a great place to live work and play.

  • Will be flexible working varied shifts including evenings and weekends.
  • Keeps facility clean and safe for all patrons.
  • Contributes to the success of the Department.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position would be seasonal (September through April). Hours would vary (Monday through Sunday) depending on scheduled leagues/programs for the Mens Womens and Coed Volleyball Programs. Hours would generally be Monday through Friday between 6:00pm and 10:00pm and Sundays between 2:00pm and 6:00pm. Position would typically be working at Dzantiki Heeni Middle School and/or Floyd Dryden.

Typical Responsibilities

This position is responsible for officiating adult volleyball matches for Mens Womens and Coed leagues ensuring games are conducted fairly and in accordance with league rules. Adult Games Officials help maintain a safe environment by monitoring player behavior enforcing facility and league rules and stopping play when conditions are unsafe.

They are also responsible for opening and closing facilities as needed assisting gym users with equipment inspecting the facility for cleanliness and safety and completing incident or accident reports when addition to refereeing officials act as educatorsexplaining rules calls and proper equipment setup to players and team managers.

Other related duties may be assigned based on program needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:
Prior experience in basketball soccer and/or volleyball as a scorekeeper official coach or player.

Note:

Special Note:

This recruitment is being used to collect applications for a Part-Time Limited Recreation Worker I working as an Adult Games Official for the Parks and Recreation Department. In accordance with 2 PR 010 part-time limited positions may be non-competitive and are not subject to public announcement.
