Job Description
The therapeutic paraprofessionals primary responsibility isto provide support for the implementation of an appropriate academic programthat is in accordance with district standards assist with modificationsallowed by the individualized education plans and assist with classroom instructionand behavioral management. This positionis emotionally intensive and requires a steady calm and consistentmannerism. Routine processing of studentbehaviors with the teacher and therapist is a primary responsibility so thatthe behaviors can be evaluated and a plan of action towards those behaviors canbe developed and implemented. The therapeutic paraprofessional spends 70% ofthe time in therapeutic duties and 30% of the time in academic duties.
