Clinical and / or Forensic Psychologist 0.8 to 1 WTE (NHS Grade 8a b or c)

You and the role

We are looking to appoint a 0.8 to 1 WTE Clinical or Forensic Psychologist with experience ranging from a qualified psychologist (band 8a) to a consultant psychologist who are HCPC registered and who has experienceor an interest of working with complex and challenging patient groups.

The ward: Acquired Brain injury (Rose ward)

Rose is 16 bed forensic neuropsychiatry unit for men with neurological and mental health conditions who require neurobehavioral rehabilitation in a forensic environment. Diagnoses include Acquired or Traumatic Brain Injury dementia stroke epilepsy or Huntingtons disease (HD) possibly with learning disabilities psychosis or personality disorder. We pride ourselves on managing the most complex cases.

Psychology is highly valued within the service and embedded within a multi-disciplinary approach. The post holder will be fully involved in the development delivery and evaluation of a range of assessments and formulation-led interventions. You will be joining a motivated and supportive team with a variety of therapeutic knowledge using approaches including CBT Schema CFTEMDR DBT and trauma informed care in both 1:1 and group formats.

There will be opportunities for joint professional work and providing reflective practice clinical supervision support and training and we actively support innovation and can expect to receive good support reflective practice and supervision and will play a vital part in the promotion of this service.

Participation in continued professional development is encouraged and divisional and charity wide CPD events are held will be given to support in obtaining qualifications in neuropsychology. Staff wellbeing is taken seriously recognising the importance for practitioners to care for themselves when caring for others.
