Job Description

CyrusOne is seeking a Vice President of Capital Market to support the execution of financing transactions as well as the development of internal capabilities to source capital including financings and other strategic capital. This role will report to the Chief Investment Officer and will be a strategic partner to senior management. CyrusOne operates in a collaborative hybrid work environment; however CyrusOne prefers that this leader be based in Dallas Texas. The role will require travel according to business needs.

CyrusOne is looking for an individual who has an appreciation for the sector knowledge of global private and public debt capital markets and who can also bring alternative thinking and healthy challenge and debate to the team and to the wider business. The ability to operate in a privately owned organization and understand private capital structure is important to success in the role. The ideal candidate will be a cultural fit as a leader within CyrusOne and hungry to drive company business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of the companys capital strategy assisting in evaluating capital structure optimization opportunities in alignment with evolving market conditions and business objectives. Work with lenders investors and internal team to initiate solicit select and close on financing transactions including public (e.g. ABS green bonds) or private (e.g. USPP) sources of capital.
  • Establish and maintain relations between the Company and members of the finance community including lenders shareholders institutional investors and others.
  • Work closely with Treasury to assess credit needs and support funding initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of processes policies and procedures related to capital markets and investor activities. Responsible for understanding the market and new developments in the capital markets and integrating into business practices as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the ongoing reporting and compliance of the debt portfolio. Assess and manage the prepayment process including possible notices. Work with the team on how financings interrelate to other transactions such as lease consents and confidentiality. Assure compliance with covenants as well as other capital raise issues. Integrate the lender consents and prepayments with the Companys capital structure.
  • Independently develop confidential information memoranda and financial models with minimal oversight.
  • Manage third-party legal counsel and consultants related to all financing efforts as well as support negotiation of financing terms with counterparties.
  • Analyze and evaluate complex ownership borrower structures relative to legal and financial responsibilities and obligations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Business or a related field; MBA/CFA or relevant graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in capital markets investment banking or corporate finance preferably with a real estate or infrastructure focus. Demonstrated track record of procuring capital solutions.
  • Management and leadership of large-scale debt transactions particularly with real estate focus.
  • Knowledge and experience in investment banking for securitized debt transactions as a banker or client.
  • Experience with US markets is required and Europe/Asia experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of securitized debt markets in the infrastructure category (datacenters towers telecom other specialized real estate) is advantageous.
  • Experience with managing capital structure at a private equity sponsored company.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously whilst working under pressure to meet deadlines; Be a flexible and adaptable leader that is calm under tight deadlines with an ability to work across multiple time zones.
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to operational excellence and process improvement; be detail oriented with an ability to create read and understand term sheets and contracts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication skills and an ability to engage and to collaborate with individuals at various levels.
  • Successful track record of working and thriving in a dynamic growth-oriented and often highly ambiguous/transformative environment.
  • Ability to drive change by engaging others and getting buy-in through influence in order to achieve goals.
  • Have strong negotiation and presentation skills and have an ability to advocate for business discipline.
  • An inquisitive intellect with a strong analytical bias.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of ethics and integrity.

Work requirements: Hybrid-work environment in Dallas TX is expected. Travel as required
