Primary Purpose:
Managing the day-to-day operations of an after-school program ensuring high-quality services and coordinating with various stakeholders to support student responsibilities include staff supervision student enrollment and attendance activity planning data collection and community outreach.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of overall operations of an athletic program
Knowledge of federal state and UIL policies governing athletics
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Ability to interpret data
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Excellent public relations organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to speak effectively before groups of students parents and staff
Experience:
years teaching and coaching experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Overseeing the overall operations of the after-school program ensuring it aligns with the Texas ACE program objectives and meets the needs of enrolled students.
Recruiting training and supervising program staff including teachers tutors and support personnel.
Managing student enrollment attendance and addressing any behavior issues.
- Curriculum and Activities:
Planning and implementing engaging and educational activities that complement the regular school day including academic support enrichment and recreation.
- Data Collection and Reporting:
Maintaining accurate records of student participation academic progress and other program data and preparing reports for grant funding and other stakeholders.
Building relationships with parents families school staff and community partners to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
Adhering to all Texas ACE program requirements including data and fiscal management.
Specific tasks may include:
- Organizing supplies materials and transportation for the program.
- Facilitating communication between the after-school program and the school day.
- Conducting home visits to connect with students and families.
- Coordinating with community stakeholders to establish a sustainability plan.
- Attending required meetings conferences and trainings.
- Assisting with family engagement activities.
- Working with the director to develop or procure curricula and resources.
- Supporting sites in data collection and evaluation.
