Salary: 26411.70 per year Overtime
Contract: Permanent Full Time (40 hours)
Location: North Yorkshire

About the Role:

Were seeking an experienced and motivated Labourer to join our Property Services team at North Yorkshire Highways. This is a varied and rewarding role involving a mix of capital projects and responsive maintenance work across a range of commercial properties.

As part of the team youll be delivering high-quality joinery services related to property maintenance and renovations ensuring compliance with all health safety and building regulations. Youll be expected to work flexibly across the county and take part in our out-of-hours call out rota to respond to emergency repairs.

Main Duties:

  • Carry out a broad range of labouring duties including: general building drainage brickwork joinery plumbing glazing plastering flooring painting tiling fencing and roofing.
  • Support different work streams including emergency response planned maintenance and- Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively in line with Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Work independently or support tradespeople (e.g. Joiners Plumbers) on more complex tasks.
  • Assist in moving materials receiving goods and maintaining organised work areas.
  • Record completed works and defects using handheld devices.
  • Follow risk assessments and method statements.
  • Assist in the resolution of maintenance issues across property sites.
  • Participate in the on-call rota for emergency response duties.
  • Comply with all company policies procedures and safety protocols.

What Were Looking For:

Essential:

  • CSCS Card
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience as a Labourer
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety including safe systems of work and risk assessments
  • Ability to carry out a wide range of labouring and groundwork duties
  • Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
  • Full physical capability for a labour-intensive role including working outdoors in all weather
  • Flexibility to work as part of an on-call rota and travel across the county
  • Enhanced DBS check (Childrens Barred List)

Desirable (or willingness to train):

  • PASMA certification
  • Manual Handling Safe Dig Abrasive Wheels and Banksman training
  • Working at Height certification
  • First Aid (Emergency) training
