About the Role
As the School Director you will be responsible for the daily management oversight and operations in planning and developing an age-appropriate program for the designated Bloomsbury Academy. Working closely with RECE and ECA staff to create and implement developmentally appropriate programs for children aged 18 months to 6 years. Overseeing the assigned site you will be responsible for fostering a safe and inclusive environment that supports childrens holistic development while adhering to Ministry of Education compliance and regulatory standards and the organizations philosophy.

As we are a highly collaborative team this role is on-site full-time and the successful candidate will be required to work on-site Monday through Friday with occasional weekend and evening hours (including open house events and school tours).

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the designated Bloomsbury Academy to ensure smooth functioning with students parents and staff
- Ensure the Ministry of Education compliance and manage all licensing inspections including Toronto Public Health and Fire Safety.
- Familiarity and ability to implement relevant curriculum standards and regulations including the Child Care and Early Years Act ELECT How Does Learning Happen and health/safety protocols
- In conjunction with the Director development and enhancement of the program with an entrepreneurial focus seeking innovative ways to enrich childrens experiences and foster growth
- Support teachers in designing and executing a learning program tailored to the developmental needs of the children in each classroom
- Responsible for ensuring that all Bloomsbury Academy childcare policies and procedures are implemented and followed
- Monitor the inventory of materials supplies and equipment. Make purchases for the site staying within the site budget or submit purchase requests to the Director for approval
- Assist the Director in hiring and onboarding new staff and monitor staff performance mentoring and coaching at the designated site
- Manage the teacher performance review process including 1:1 coaching mid-year and annual reviews
- Collaborate with teachers and serve as a liaison between site staff and the Director
- Provide a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment showing sensitivity to the individual needs of children in all aspects of development
- Maintain accurate and complete records for children such as application and registration forms updating emergency contact sheets allergy lists etc.
- Observe and assess childrens progress and behaviour to ensure programs meet identified individual andgroup needs. Recommend referral of children to outside agencies for special needs
- Maintain a positive and supportive workplace atmosphere through fair and consistent behaviour guidance techniques
- Foster collaborative relationships with families through ongoing communication support and resource provision
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or provincially recognized equivalency required
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in early childhood education and a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role
- Registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators is required
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing the operations of an educational institution preferably in a childcare or daycare setting
- Experience in curriculum development implementation and assessment
- Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) How Does Learning Happen and ELECT
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain open communication with colleagues supervisors and families
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum
- Commitment to maintaining professional standards and ongoing professional development including attending workshops conferences and in-house training
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
- Strong understanding of confidentiality protocols and ethical standards in childcare settings
