Youll get to work with various GE aerospace engine platforms supporting the McAllen repair shop business processes and collaborating with operation on cost and productivity improvement projects. The GE Aerospace facility in McAllen is one of our centers of expertise specializing in the repair of engine components used in commercial and military aircraft.
The Finance Specialist will work alongside Site Finance Leader supporting the monthly/quarterly/yearly close process while providing input for forecasting budgeting and financial planning. Provide financial and operational internal controls process simplification and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly Financial Closing Activities and preform GL analysis.
- Provide input to balance sheet and P&L reviews including pre-close and deep dives.
- Provide HQ FP&A with quarterly forecasts and supporting data explaining Forecast to Actual differences.
- Responsible for fixed asset submissions for capitalization and construction-in-progress tracking.
- Conversion cost productivity reporting and identify cost drives by platform/component and work with Ops BLs to establish problem solving action items.
- Responsible for generating and managing flex nozzle program claims for all applicable customer programs.
- Analyze direct and indirect material movements to identify cost drivers and understand preform roll forwards to tie inventory system MRO to ERP OSB and GL.
- Account reconciliation peer review and preparation.
- Support CSA and T&M teams with accurate repair billing.
- Develop Lean skills and apply FLIGHT DECK principles.
- Identify and implement simplification initiatives month end and quarter end closing
- Understand and create applicable Enterprise Standards SOPs and Process Maps
- Ad-hoc research and projects to support business needs including timely resolution of issues
- Ensure alignment to GAAP and GE policies throughout the accounting process.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college with an emphasis in finance or related field.
- 2 -3 years of finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and present complex financial data
- Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles
- Strong systems acumen Inventory ERP Oracle HFM and SAP S4 experience preferred
