Job Description

Key job responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced software engineer to build the next generation of systems using open source technologies such as Hadoop Spark and AWS services like EMR Kinesis and DynamoDB. You will have background delivering highly distributed systems at scale design patterns like SDKs libraries versioning and a strong operational track record working with multiple teams. You will be responsible for designing and developing software products that will ingest non-endemic conversions events in to Amazons advertising for the purpose of measurement.
Candidates for this position should have strong engineering fundamentals as well as real-world experience. You will showcase diverse architectural approaches and design patterns in your technical design. Think big and stay informed about industry standards in Ad tech space. Communicate effectively across all leadership levels verbally and in writing. Lead deep technical discussions with senior engineers collaborating to solve challenging problems. You will be able to quickly grasp new systems and provide valuable consultation.
A day in the life
We are responsible for processing non-endemic advertising events (over tens of billions of new events per day) such as clicks and views across all Off-Amazon products. We bring non-endemic conversions events into Amazon Ads for the purpose of measurement. Conversions are typically customer actions that advertisers associate to advertising campaigns to track performance metrics. These conversion events include Off-Amazon conversions which occur on 3rd party websites.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
