Are you a visionary technology leader ready to shape how millions of people interact with government services The North Carolina Department of Information Technology is seeking an innovative IT Executive to lead the North Carolina Department of Transportations (NCDOT) enterprise platforms and digital ecosystem. From cloud collaboration and SAP (ERP) to geospatial intelligence and real-time web services this role sits at the heart of our digital transformation.
The Engineering Transportation Systems (ETS) IT Executive is a dynamic leadership role at the forefront of innovation in infrastructure and mobility. This high-impact position sets the strategic direction for ETS teams drives day-to-day operations and empowers staff with the skills and support needed to deliver modern mission-critical technology solutions across NCDOT.
As a key collaborator youll work closely with agency leaders and IT peers to identify emerging opportunities evaluate platforms and services and steer transformational initiatives that improve how North Carolina designs builds and maintains its transportation systems. Youre not just managing teams youre shaping culture streamlining operations and continuously optimizing performance based on real feedback and results.
Youll also take charge of resource planning and execution forecasting demand setting budgets managing expenditures and aligning team efforts with agency priorities. Whether coordinating stakeholders mentoring staff or resolving challenges youll bring a steady hand and a forward-looking mindset to everything you do.

TheN.C. Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC. Services that NCDIT provides reach a client base of state and local government agencies as well as schools colleges and universities. NCDITsmission is to enable trusted business-driven solutions that meet the needs of North Carolinians. Bachelors degree in computer science or a related IT field business administration project management or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and seven years of progressive information technology experience including three years of managerial experience

Associate degree in computer science or a related IT field business administration project management or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and eight years of progressive information technology experience with three years of managerial experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

At NCDIT we are dedicated to fostering a collaborative and flexible work environment offering a hybrid remote work option for positions that are conducive to remote flexibility. If you do not currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned duty station new hires are granted up to 120 days from their start date to relocate.
