Position Information
TheDepartment of Enterprise Services (DES) is hiring aGolf Course Superintendent II to plan direct and oversee the operations improvements development and maintenance of the Pali Golf Course.
As aGolf Course Superintendent II your duties and responsibilities include:- Establishes operating policies and procedures and sees that they are effectively carried out.
- Maintains records prepares reports and evaluates the status of all programs including the general condition of the course and its facilities as well as projected plans for improvement and growth.
- Oversees maintenance of the course and its facilities including playing areas non-playing areas such as parking facilities sidewalks retaining walls etc. beautification of the grounds all structure and appurtenances and equipment.
- Supervises the golf course maintenance and improvement crews requiring operating or functional knowledge of the use of organic and chemical fertilizers and soil supplements and conditioners use and application of herbicides insecticides and fungicides.
- Required to operate within funds allotted by annual expenditure schedule or justify and obtain approval for deviations.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities of the position.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three years of supervisory experience in golf course maintenance and/or operations activities.
Such experience must have demonstrated theability to plan organize assign and review the work of subordinates engaged in the operation improvement and maintenance of a golf course.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Valid drivers license (Type 3) prior to appointment.Examination Process
