About the Portfolio
The University of Tasmania is entering a pivotal phase of growth and renewal guided by its refreshed Strategic Plan. This plan positions the University as a key enabler of Tasmanias transition across education health productivity climate resilience and cultural identity by 2025. Central to this vision is the Academic Division which plays a vital role in shaping pedagogy academic leadership and scholarly life across all campuses.
The Opportunity
This position is a unique opportunity for an exceptional leader to oversee the ongoing evolution of the Academic Division and the Universitys Academic System. Leading a diverse and dynamic collection of portfolios this role will promote innovation in academic development and work collaboratively to build strong regional and national partnerships. This is a pivotal role working to enhance student success embed Indigenous perspectives and cultivate a high-performing academic culture that helps us realise our bold aspirations for the way in which the education health productivity and climate agenda of Tasmania can enhance the life of Tasmanians and the world.
The role is an opportunity to work collaboratively and purposefully facilitate connection across academic and professional units and contribute to whole of University strategic and executive decision making.
Whats Required
Demonstrated high-level (Deputy Vice-Chancellor Executive Dean Pro Vice-Chancellor or equivalent role) academic leadership skills in learning and teaching and capacity to foster academic excellence.
Proven superior organisational and administrative skills including strategic and operational planning policy development and effective implementation of change and continuous improvement.
Demonstrated record of success in fostering partnerships and collaborative arrangements with governments other universities business and industry and leveraging these to benefit the University
Demonstrated comprehensive experience in leading the development of contemporary pedagogical practices and distinctive student experiences.
